Overview

This article explains how AI moderation systems affect content creation in our tools. These restrictions come from the AI models we use to generate book content, not from our software itself.

Important Note: We cannot change these moderation rules. This guide helps you understand the restrictions and navigate them for your publishing projects.

Content Restrictions by Platform

AIA Guidelines

AIA has specific topics that should be avoided for successful publishing.

Where to Find Details:

  • Complete information is available in Module 2's Coming Up with Topic Ideas Lesson

  • This lesson covers all ill-advised topics for AIA compliance

Amazon Guidelines

Amazon enforces their own content policies that affect what can be published.

Official Guidelines:

  • For the most current information, review Amazon's official guidelines directly

  • This same link is provided in the AIA lesson for easy reference

OpenAI (ChatGPT) Guidelines

OpenAI does not publish their complete guidelines publicly. However, their system actively moderates content during generation.

Restricted Content Types:

  • Hate speech and harassment

  • Sexually explicit material

  • Violent content

  • Other potentially harmful material

How Content Gets Flagged

Flagging Process

When you submit prompts that violate OpenAI's guidelines, the system will respond with specific indicators:

Flag Indicators:

  • Orange flag appears in the interface

  • Status messages such as:

    • "Flagged"

    • "Unsafe"

    • "Harmful"

    • "Inappropriate"

    • "Potentially violates content rules"

What Triggers Flags

The chatbot flags prompts that potentially violate content rules. Examples include:

  • Content promoting hate speech

  • Harassment-related material

  • Sexually explicit content

  • Violent material descriptions

  • Other content deemed inappropriate by AI safety standards

Guidelines Compliance

Our Position

These moderation guidelines are:

  • Reasonable and fair content policies

  • Necessary for safety and platform compliance

Member Expectations

We respectfully request all members to:

  • Respect these established guidelines

  • Adhere to all platform requirements

  • Work within the moderation parameters
