Overview

This guide explains how to use the book topic idea generation feature to create ideas for your book topics. This feature is powerful and flexible, allowing you to generate targeted topic suggestions based on your preferences.

Have you watched Choosing a Book Topic yet? Start there and learn what separates a good topic from a poor one.

How to Generate Book Topic Ideas

Step 1: Select Your Category

  1. Choose a category from the first drop-down menu

  2. Categories are broad genre classifications that Amazon uses to categorize books

  3. If you need help choosing a category, refer to the Choosing a Book Topic lesson mentioned above

Step 2: Choose Your Subcategory

  1. Select a subcategory from the second drop-down menu

  2. Each subcategory will further refine the topic options you receive

  3. If you don't have a specific subcategory in mind, select "I'm open to anything"

Note: If you already have a topic in mind, you can choose "skip this step"

Step 3: Generate Your Topics

  1. Click the Generate button

  2. The generation process will begin in the output section on the right side of the screen

  3. Topic generation typically takes a few seconds to a few minutes maximum

Step 4: Review and Copy Your Results

To copy all results:

  • Click the Copy button in the top right of the page

To copy specific topics:

  • Highlight the specific lines you want

  • Use Ctrl+C (or Cmd+C on Mac) to copy them to your clipboard

To generate new results:

  • Click the Generate button again to create a completely new list of book topic ideas

These are initial topic ideas only. They have not passed strict proof of concept (POC) requirements and may need further refinement.

Next steps:

  • Check each topic for POC requirements yourself

  • Further refine topics before proceeding with your book project

Quality Assurance

Remember that generated topics are starting points for your research and validation process. Always verify market demand and competition before committing to a topic.
