Overview

This guide shows you how to switch your browser to incognito mode (also called private mode).

Incognito mode is a browser setting that doesn't keep a record of the web pages you visit. This means your browsing history does not affect your future browsing results.

Steps to Enable Incognito Mode in Chrome

  1. Open the Chrome menu - Find the three dots (⋮) in the top right corner of your browser window

  2. Select New Incognito Window from the dropdown menu

  3. Verify incognito mode - A new window will appear, showing you are now in incognito mode

Steps to Enable Private Mode in Edge

  1. Open the browser menu - Select the three dots (⋮) in the top right corner of your Edge browser window

  2. Select New InPrivate Window from the dropdown menu

  3. Verify private mode - A new window will appear, showing you are now in private mode

  • Find the private/incognito browsing option in the menu
